Erlinda Navalta's Obituary
Erlinda Fernandez Navalta, 81, of Mililani, Hawai'i, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2018. She was born on June 28, 1937 in Dagupan City, Philippines, the first of nine children, to the late Benito and Paciencia (Quinan) Fernandez. Erlinda attended Orient Colleges and Excella Academy, Home of Fashion and Arts. Erlinda married Christino Navalta on January 10, 1960 in Dagupan City, Philippines. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Laupahoehoe, Hawai'i. Erlinda was a generous, friendly, helpful, and kind individual with a great sense of humor. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting and was a member of the Laupahoehoe Senior Citizen Group.
Erlinda is predeceased by her parents and her loving husband, Christino Navalta. She is survived by her children, Nida (Al) Padilla, Nanette (Paul) Nehls, Wendell (Paige) Navalta and Jennifer (Mike) Betz and 10 grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters, Perla Ortal, Norma Fernandez, and Virginia Fernandez, and brother Cesar Fernandez. A special thank you to David and Sonia Sarkine at Mililani Care Home, LLC.
Funeral service scheduled for Friday, August 10, 2018 with visitation from 9:00-10:00 a.m. with Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church (43 Kapiolani St. Hilo, Island of Hawai'i, HI 96720). Interment to follow at 11:30 a.m. at East Hawai'i Veterans Cemetery #2 in Hilo, Hawai'i.
