Ernest Kahipa Akao's Obituary
Ernest Kahipa Akao, 88, of Nanakuli, passed away February 16, 2017. He was born in Laupahoehoe, Hawaii on July 20, 1928 to parents David Kahea Akao and Mary Meheula Akau, and was a retired heavy equipment operator for Hawaiian Bitumuls. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Grace, and son, Enos Akao.
Survived by sons, Andrew Akao and David Akao; daughters, Ipolani (Kenneth) Wright, Nohealani (Ben) Tucker, Anelalani (Ronald Peters) Akao, Holly Akao; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017, at Kawaiaha'o Church. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Service of remembrance will start at 11:30 a.m. He will be buried privately at Nanakuli Homestead Cemetery.
