Hi! You don't know me but Ernie dated my mom over 30 years ago. My mom recently passed away and I had been thinking of Ernie a lot. He was the only boyfriend who I remember fondly. He always thought of things to do to include my sister an myself and truly cared. He was the sweetest man. I remember his smile and his love for tennis. It looks like he went on to create an amazing family and life which makes me sooo happy. I am sure he will be missed. xoxo Genea Sobel Goldberg

Ernest Bento “Ernie” Enos Jr., 77, of Kailua, a state machinist supervisor at the University of Hawaii Institute for Astronomy, and an Army Reserve veteran, died in Honolulu. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Mellie, sons Christopher and Daniel, daughter Laurie Ann Hope, brother John, two grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Visitation: 9:30 a.m. June 29 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Mass: 10:30 a.m. Scattering of ashes: 2 p.m. at Kailua Beach Boat Ramp.
