Dear Laurie, Joy and Faith,
I am so sorry to have read of Niki's passing. How sad you all must feel. This man, your husband and father, was truly a special person. I once ran into him at Longs in Kaimuki and he asked me why I was there at that time. I mentioned that I had just dropped of my granddaughter at Sacred Hearts. AND he thanked ME for being a supportive grandparent! He explained how important it was for all of us to support each other. What a special person and how special he made me feel.
I also had the benefit of knowing you folks as a member of the New Hope Children's Ark team. You are a beautiful family! Do you remember sharing a broccoli and grape salad with me once? I lost a grandchild who was born stillborn at full term and have not been able to go back to the Children's Ark since. It has been a year. Time does help and does heal but only God can bring you the kind of peace only he can provide.
