Ernie Bergado Galzote Sr.'s Obituary
Ernie Bergado Galzote, Sr., 93, of Waipahu, Hawaii, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018.
Ernie was born in Brgy. Gabao, Santiago, Ilocos Sur, Philippines on February 15, 1925. He was the 5th of 10 children born to Maria (Bergado) and Doroteo Galzote.
In his early 20s, he worked in Okinawa, Japan for a few years. He later returned to the Philippines, where he met his wife, Rosalina Cedre.
In the early 1960’s he came to Hawaii and worked at the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani Hotel in Waikiki and retired in 1982.
Ernie enjoyed fishing, gambling, watching game shows, reading Banawag magazines and listening to the Filipino radio station.
Ernie is survived by his loving wife, Rosalina; 10 children, Jessie (Vangie) Galzote, Merlina (Renato) Javier, Marilou (Jack) Fabro, Teofilo (Connie) Galzote, Jerry (Valentina) Galzote, Mila (Tito) Budiao, Romulo (Kerry Ann) Galzote, Ernesto (Betty) Galzote, Jr., Aldrino (Maylene) Galzote, Miriam (Tracy) Galzote; 34 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Apolinario Galzote, Benvenido Galzote; and two sisters, Severina Carranza, Conchita Galzote.
Celebration of Life services for Ernie will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the Valley of the Temples Chapel; visitation from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m., service to begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by burial service 1:00 p.m. at the Valley of the Temples Memorial Park.
