Esther Moy Jun Balderas' Obituary
Celebrating the life of Esther Moy Jun Balderas, 66, of Kaneohe, Hawaii passed away on May 23, 2017. Esther was the youngest of six children born to Estelle Miu Lin (Wong) and Harry Yee Ginn Ching in Honolulu, Hawaii on November 27, 1950.
Esther attended and graduated from Kalani High School, Class of 1968. After graduation, she began a career as a waitress at Kay’s Bakery and Coffee Shop, Tops Waikiki and Bob’s Big Boy Restaurant.
Esther was married to Rodrigo “Gigo” Balderas on March 23, 1971 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Esther was a very devoted wife, mother and Tutu who loved traveling to Las Vegas and playing mahjong. She always greeted everyone with a kiss and a hug. She will be remembered for her generosity and love for everyone.
Esther is survived by her loving husband, Rodrigo Balderas; daughters,Chantelle Witt and Rochelle (Shayne) Guthrie; son, Troy (Sydette) Balderas; six grandchildren; siblings, Harry (Lei) Ching, Elizabeth “Lizo” Ferguson, Ronald Ching, and Wilkins “Hapu”(Janne) Ching.
Esther’s celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary; visitation from 9:30 – 12:00 p.m., service to begin at 10:30 a.m., with Committal service to follow 1:00 p.m. at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery.
