Faustina Respicio's Obituary
Faustina, “Tina”, Respicio passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 27, 2022. She was born in Laoag, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. Her life is a testament of devotion and love of family. Tina and Gil were married in 1943. Their 79 years of marriage brought forth 4 children, 6 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
Mom’s greatest joy was to see everyone happy, comfortable, and well-fed. Family meals were important. She and Dad had their own comedic routine after meals which she very much enjoyed. Dad would tease her and she would get “mad”, but the look on her face would betray her, showing how much she loved and enjoyed their time together.
Family time included watching “Filipino Fiesta” and “The Lawrence Welk Show”. Her night owl habits included watching the late-night news and Johnny Carson’s “Tonight Show”. When visiting family on the mainland, she was the Casino Queen, happily spending an entire day at the slot machines.
Mom enjoyed daily walks to Pearlridge Mall. She became a familiar figure to store employees and others along her route. Her warmth and friendliness were well recognized.
Mom and Dad are now together. We have two angels watching over us. We miss you Mom. We are comforted by your safety in each other’s arms.
