Felicidad Natividad Cariaga's Obituary
We Celebrate the Life of Felicidad "Phyllis" Cariaga, born on April 23, 1926 to Severo and Beatrice Natividad. She was the second child of thirteen children. With so many siblings in the family, Phyllis and her older sister never finished high school to help with the growing family. She was married to Delfin Cariaga who preceded her in passing. She worked for Kim Chow Shoes and clothing for over 35 years. In retirement Phyllis enjoyed crafting and gardening. She was an active member with the Pali Seniors of Kailua and St. John Vianney Church Sodality Club. Making paper dolls and designing their dress was a favorite activity as well as creating beautiful Haku lei. Easter time was especially fun because she created paper hats and adorned them with Easter themed decorative items. Several of her hats won First Prize in the Senior Easter Parade.
Phyllis enjoyed people and had a warm smile for everyone she met. we will truly miss this kind and gentle soul, daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Our lives were enriched by her love and belief in family.
Funeral services for Phyllis will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at St. John Vianney Church in Kailua. Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. with Eulogy to begin at 10:30 a.m. Mass will start at 11:00 a.m. and burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery in Kane'ohe.
