Felix Domingo Lazo's Obituary
Felix Domingo "Idot" Lazo, of Kapaa, passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on February 24, 2017 at the age of 78.
The oldest of five children, he was born on February 21, 1939 in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, to parents Lorenzo Mateo Lazo and Anacleta Tolentino Domingo Lazo, and lived with his family in the Philippines until 1969. On November 28, 1981, he married his beloved wife, Nenita Salud, in San Nicolas, Philippines. He earned a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and a Master's Degree in Accounting in the Philippines. After graduation and moving to Hawaii, he began a 30-year career as an accountant at the Kauai Resort Hotel, and in 2000 was awarded the Most Outstanding Accountant of Kauai by the Malama Pono Awards Committee of the hotel industry. After retiring in 2002, he enjoyed gardening and became a self-employed tax consultant. He was an active member of Garden Island Church and enjoyed listening to Christian music. An avid follower of current events, he enjoyed traveling and attended the Melbourne (1956) and Montreal Olympics (1976).
He is survived by beloved wife, Nenita "Aunty Nita"; children, Sudim (Brian Mundy) Lazo, Soliman "Rajah" Lazo and Verlinus "Ver" Lazo; brothers, Rodrigo (Luzviminda) Lazo, Julio D. (Rosalinda) Lazo and Danilo (Lynda) Lazo; sister, Josefa (Rogelio) Alejo; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. with services to follow at 11:00 a.m.
Additional services will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary (45-425 Kamehameha Hwy., Kaneohe, HI 96744). Visitation will be from 8:30-9:30 a.m., followed by a service at 9:30 a.m. Graveside service and burial will be at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park (Kaneohe, Hawaii) at 12 noon.
