Flora Eda Cacal Cadiz's Obituary
Flora Eda Cacal Cadiz, 97, wife of the late George Ridad Cadiz of Waipahu, passed away on Monday, May 8th, 2017 at her home in Waipahu.
Born December 2, 1919 in Teppang, Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she was the oldest daughter of the late Maxima Eda Cacal and the lateTeodoro Cacal.
Mrs. Cadiz was a wife and mother in the Philippines. She would later join her husband in Honolulu in January 1963, where she kept residence for the remainder of her life - caring for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren. In her spare time, she loved gardening, knitting, and sewing.
She is survived by daughters Natividad (Maximo Emilio) Madariaga and Vicky (Alex) Bagain of Waipahu, and son Virgilio (Harlean) Cadiz of Salt Lake; 4 grandsons Jorge Cadiz and Jeff (Margaret) Cadiz of Salt Lake, Randy Cadiz of Las Vegas, NV, and Gari-Vic (Erin) Baxa of Waipahu; 2 granddaughters Ana Liza Baxa (Stanley) Jacinto of Ewa Beach, and Aimee-Jane Baxa (Richard) Molina of Mililani. She is also survived by brother Anastacio Cacal of the Philippines and sister Josephine (and the late Ricky) Ranada of Waipahu, 10 great-grandchildren, and 3 great great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband George, she is preceded in death by brothers Crispin Cacal, Andres Cacal, Apollonio Cacal, Antonio Cacal, and sister Marcelina Cacal Galiza.
Wake services will be held on Monday, May 22, 2017, at Diamond Head Mortuary (535 18th Ave., Honolulu HI 96816). Visitation will be from 6:00-9:00 p.m. with a prayer service beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Additional services will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church (94-651 Farrington Hwy., Waipahu, HI 96797), with a visitation from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with graveside services and burial to follow at 12:30 p.m. at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park (47-200 Kahekili Hwy., Kaneohe, HI 96744).
