Florence Billamor Freitas
February 4, 1939 - November 12, 2014
Florence is now at home in the kingdom of Our Lord God Almighty. Praise and glory to the King of Kings, our Lord and Savior, the Christ, Jesus.
"Flo" as she is affectionately known, was born the baby of her family to Mr. Balbino E. Billamor and Ms.Lillian Ho'aeae on the morning of February 4,1939. Raised in Honolulu she graduated from Wallace Rider Farrington High School class of 1957. She has one brother, and three sister who have preceded her in life, now departed, and three sisters that survive her, Lillian (Samuel Bowlin), Miriam "Bing" (Stan "The Man" Cox) and Sophia ( Jack Bowlin). Also surviving her are her husband, and all her children and grandchildren.
As the baby of the family Flo needn't look far for attention or treats and was always well cared for and protected. As a child growing up in early Honolulu her sisters tell of her boundless energy, strong will and determination to pursue and accomplish anything that she set out to do.
Having enjoyed an exciting and promising career in the entertainment industry in an ever expanding and newly "discovered" Honolulu, during her formative years, Flo married and began to raise her children with her husband on the windward side of Oahu in Kaneohe. She enjoyed the new music of the '60's , bowling, playing cards with her I laws, and raising her children. She would encourage and support their many activities which included, judo, football, baseball, soccer, water polo, paddling, surfing and hula.
She would take them on excursions around the islands and concerts, often inviting her children's friends or others to join them.
Upon the graduation of her baby from high school she would go on to attaining a black belt and
instructing women's self defense with JIKC. She began the sport of golf at Bayview with a group of gals fondly known as The Happy Hooker" then continued on to become tournament chair for several events held island wide including MCBH - Kaneohe.
