Frances Ann Genard's Obituary
Frances Ann Genard, 83, of Honolulu, Hawaii passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2016. She was born to Simon Connolly and Ann McGuire in Peoria, Illinois on September 2, 1932.
Fran was a retired bookkeeper for Caterpillar Construction Company.
She graduated from High School with her diploma, after graduation she began her career as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone Company then eventually moved on and was employed with Caterpillar as a bookkeeper where she retired.
She lived in Peoria, Illinois and made her home in Hawaii Kai on the island of Oahu in the state of Hawaii.
She was married to Joseph P. Genard in April of 1953 in Peoria, Illinois.
She was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church.
Fran cherished her four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Fran also loved her Shih Tzu “Sandy” who was a wonderful companion to her.
The most important events in Fran’s life was meeting her husband Joe and being able to travel the world with him. The birth of her two boys. She so loved being a mother, grandmother and a great-grandmother.
Fran appreciated a wide variety of music and stayed current to what was going on. She loved the fine arts, traveling and exploring the world.
Fran loved living in Hawaii, she was an avid photographer and loved to receive photographs of any kind.
She belonged to the Elks Club, Sierra Club and was an election judge for the Save Sandy Beach Committee.
She is survived by her sons, Robert (Kathy) Genard and Joseph (Kathy) Genard; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She will be tremendously missed by her family and friends.
