Francis Yuk San Chun's Obituary
Celebrating the Life of Francis Yuk Son Chun, born on November 21, 1927 in Honolulu, Hawaii. His parents were Tai Chun and Nguit Chung. He was the youngest out of eight children. He attended Mckinley High School. He owned and operated Kapahulu Poi Shop for 20 years and retired at the age of 50. He served in the United States Army from 4/13/1946 to 4/7/1949, during WWII. He attained the rank of Corporal and received his World War II Victory Medal. He lived in Manoa & Kapahulu his entire life. He was married to Mildred Wai Sim Lee in 1951. His most important events in his life were his family; having four sons, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He loved bowling, fishing, playing cards and having a beer with family and friends.
He is survived by wife Mildred W. S. Chun; sons, Francis K. H. (Winona) Chun, Derek K. H. Chun and Duncan E. K. H. (Carolyn) Chun; eight grandchildren, Elissa Chun (Kawika) Johnson, Matthew (Meriann) Chun, Lisanne, Jason, Jessica, Steffany, Rex and Sean Chun; and two great-grandchildren, Kelis and Eliana Johnson. He was preceded in death by son, Colin K. H. Chun.
