Franklin Corrigidor Ramos' Obituary
Franklin Corrigidor Ramos, 73, of Pearl City, Hawaii passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at his residence. He was born on February 1, 1942 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He was the second of four children born to Marcos Ramos and Eufemia Justo. Franklin was a retired flight attendant for United Airlines and a United States Air Force Veteran.
Franklin attended Kalihi-Waena Elementary, Kalakaua Intermediate School, and lastly attended Farrington High School. After graduation he enlisted and served in the United States Air Force. In 1968 he began working for United Airlines and then in 1985 he started his own lunch wagon business.
After retiring he traveled, learned the Hawaiian language, making ukuleles, and volunteering at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Pearl City. He lived in Los Angeles, California; Honolulu, Hawaii; Okinawa, Japan and lastly settled in Pearl City on the island of Oahu.
Franklin was married to Nathalie Flores on January 24, 1970 at St. John’s Catholic Church. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. His belief in Jesus Christ gave him both strength and solace. With his big heart and personality he had too many special friends to name.
The events that were important to him was the birth of his daughter, Jennifer, representing United Airlines at the Jerry Lewis Telethon for nearly a decade. He enjoyed landscape designing, cooking, “loved” music and singing, and learning new languages. He was fluent in the Japanese language. He enjoyed music by; Frank Sinatra, Edie Gorme, Steve Lawrence, Jack Jones and Mario Lanza to name a few.
Franklin served in the United States Air Force from 1960 to 1964 where he attained the rank of an Enlisted Airman/E-2.
He was a charismatic, compassionate, loving, humorous, patient, and entertaining man who will be tremendously missed by all.
Franklin is survived by wife, Nathalie L. Ramos; daughter, Jennifer Fiorino-Johnson; brother, Albert Ramos; sisters, Lourdes Gube and Lin Garcia; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Pearl City; mass to begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow 1:00 p.m. at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery
