Gary Michael Fontes' Obituary
Celebrating the Life of Gary Michael Fontes, who passed away in Kaneohe, Hawaii on March 30, 2014. He was born on August 21, 1980 in Honolulu. Gary was the eldest of three children. He attended Kahaluu Elementary School, King Intermediate School, St. Louis School and Castle High School. He earned Massage Therapy and CDL Licenses. Upon graduation he began his career as a truck driver, last worked with HFM Food Service. Gary lived in Kaaawa, but was raised in Kahaluu. He strived to live his life as a good Catholic. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus.
He was a loving, caring, kind, hardworking, selfless man, who enjoyed working in the yard, loved sports--football and baseball. His most important events in life were the birth of his three children and participating in numerous sporting events. He enjoyed listening to Bob Marley songs--"3 Little Birds" and "Don't Worry."
He is survived by sons Jahziah Kawikami Theodosio Fontes and Zahfiyah Natanael Kamaehu Fontes; daughter, Zionna Kelalalina Micaela Fontes; parents, William C. Gomes, Jr. and Lori Emily (Ferreira) Gomes; grandmothers, Miriam J. (Dias) Foltz, Diane Gomes and Elena Marlang; uncle and best friend, Jack C. (Michele) Foltz; brother, Jonathan D. Fontes; sisters, Melissa L. L. Gomes-Tulua (Pasa Tulua, Sr.) and Garnette Marlang (Vince Perez); ; nieces, Angelina E. P. Tulua and Kahlia Perez; nephews, Pasa "P.J." Tulua, Jr. and Justin Marlang; great-uncles, Herbert and Kenneth Dias, Alfred "Buddy" Silva; biological father, Oscar (Yoly) Marlang; many aunties, uncles, cousins and friends that he loved so dearly. His special friends were namely Jack, Beaux, Adam, Noah, Brandon, Daniel and many more to mention.
Visitation from 9:00-11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 3, 2014 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Kaneohe; celebration of life service to begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial service to follow 12:30 p.m. at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park.
