Gary Lee Pendergraft's Obituary
Gary Lee Pendergraft passed away at The Queens Medical Center, October 24, 2020. He was born August 5, 1941 in Hamilton, Montana, to Kermit Dale Pendergraft and Mary (Ohl) Pendergraft.
Gary was a 31 year resident of Hawaii. He grew up and lived in California before moving to Hawaii in 1989. He was a retired State of California Graphic Artist, and a retired property manager in Waikiki, Hawaii. He loved everything about living in Hawaii and he leaves behind many friends that he considered ohana.
He is survived by his daughter Brenda Weir of Janesville, WI; granddaughters Kaylee (Robert) Raymond and Skylar (Jordan Alf) Bowser, both of Janesville, WI; Coty, Jessica, Ashlyn of California; brothers Clifford Pendergraft of Nevada; Bill (Cel) Pendergraft of Pohnpei, FSM; Les (Debbie) Pendergraft of California, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his son, Scott Dale Pendergraft, his brother John Pendergraft, his wife Carol Ann Pendergraft, and his parents.
Gary was a phenomenal artist and he viewed the world through the eyes of a cartoonist. He was generous to a fault and could always see the sunny side of every dark situation. He laughter, jokes, and witty personality are already missed.
On a personal note to my dad, I want to say thank you, Daddy, for being my hero, my cheerleader, and my rock. I will love you forever and miss you everyday.
He never looked for praises
He was never one to boast
He just went on quietly working
For those he loved the most.
His dreams were seldom spoken
His wants were very few
And most of the time his worries
Went unspoken too.
He was there.... a firm foundation
Through all my storms in life
A steady hand to hold on to
In times of stress and strife.
A true friend we could turn to
When times were good or bad
One of our greatest blessings
The man that I call DAD.
Thank you to all of the doctors and nurses at The Queens Medical Center, for the compassionate way you cared for my dad, and your kindness to me at such a sad time. Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary is assisting with the arrangements. There will be no service at this time.
