Gary La'amea Sai's Obituary
Gary La‘amea Sai, a resident of Honolulu, Hawai‘i passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2016; he was 71 years old. Gary was born to David Kauhiwilani Sai and Evangeline Ikuwa in Honolulu on June 12, 1945.
Gary graduated from Kaimuki High School - “home of the Bulldogs”.
Gary served in the United States Air Force and while enlisted served in the Vietnam War.
Gary was employed with Hawaiian Telcom/Verizon as a scheduling coordinator; where he retired after long years of dedicated service.
Gary was an outgoing, fun loving man, whom to him, family meant everything.
He is survived by wife, Leslie Sai; son, Kauahi Sai; daughter, Johanna Sai; grandson, La‘amea Sai; brothers, Ronald “Jiggy” Sai and Dennis “Bighead” Sai; sisters, Marlene “Goofy” Sai and Yvonne “Peewee” Ryan; many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Celebration of Life service for Gary will be held on Sunday, August
21, 2016 at the Elks Club Lodge 616 (located at 2933 Kalakaua Avenue Honolulu, HI 96815); visitation from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.; service to begin at 12:00 p.m.
Family requests that attire be “anything with University of Hawaii logo” on it.
Family also requests no flowers; leis are welcomed
