Geraldine "Jeri" Marie Serrao's Obituary
Celebrating the Life of Geraldine "Jeri" Marie Serrao, who passed away on Friday, May 22, 2015 at the age of 72. She resided in Honolulu, Pearl City, Aiea and Waianae.
She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on June 5, 1942. Her parents were Frank Silva Barros, Jr. and Josephine Martin Rego; she was the elder of two children.
Jeri attended and graduated from Maryknoll School, Class of 1960. After graduation, she became a Mother, then went on to becoming a newspaper distribution manager and then a Funeral Director for Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary; where she retired in 2008, with more than 20 years of servicing families. After retirement, she spent time with her family and "enjoyed life."
Her most important events in her life were the births of her seven children. Jeri was a loving, giving, self-less and wonderful woman and a "Saint." She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren at family gatherings and during the holidays. She also loved listening to music from the 50's and classic country music.
Jeri is preceded in death by her son, Daniel Perreira.
She is survived by her children, Donna Perreira, Debbie Perreira, David Serrao III (Claire), Davina Des-Brisay, Dwayne Serrao (Minei Keanaaina) and Donald Serrao; 26 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Visitation to her evening wake service will be from 4:30-8:00 p.m., Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary; service to begin at 5:30 p.m. Additional visitation to her funeral service will be from 8:30-9:30 a.m., Monday, June 1, 2015 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary; with service to begin at 9:30 a.m. and burial to follow at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery.
