Gilbert Marcelino Julian's Obituary
Gilbert Marcelino Julian was born on July 4, 1951 in Rioeng, Laoag City, Philippines to parents, Juan Lazaro Julian and Julia (Marcelino) Julian.
Gilbert migrated to the United States in the late 1960's. He was a hardworking provider for his family. He married Alohalyn Calumpit Ramos and was a devoted husband to her for 41 years.
He was a firm father to his daughter, F. Glenish Caraang, an understanding father to his middle child and daughter, Gerilyn Julian, and a loyal father to his only son, Gilbert M. Julian Jr. He was also a fun loving grandfather to his Caraang grandchildren, Sherwin, Shawn, Shane Sheldon, but especially doting to his only granddaughter, Sherize.
Gilbert not only spent his entire life working hard to provide for his family, but also had the gift of cooking amazing Filipino dishes.
He lived a very simple and fulfilling life filled with hard work, laughter and bellies filled with his delicious dishes before passing away peacefully at the age of 68 on August 7, 2019; surrounded by his loving family in Waipahu, Hawaii.
Gilbert is survived by his wife, Alohalyn Ramos Julian; daughters, Francisca Glenish J. (Sherwin) Caraang and Gerilyn R. Julian; son, Gilbert M. Julian Jr.; five grandchildren, Sherwin J. Caraang, Shawn J. Caraang, Shane J. Caraang, Sheldon J. Caraang and Sherize Precious J. Caraang; siblings, Damasu M. (Bonifacia) Julian, Mina J. (Michael) Machado, Antonio "Anthony" M. (Remy B.) Julian, Nida "Trinity" (Ranold S.) Tanoe, Claire J. (George) Abian, Quintin M. Julian and Edwin M. (Henrietta D.) Julian.
A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at the Valley of the Temples Makai Chapel; visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and service to begin at 10:30 a.m. Internment service for Gilbert will be 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 13, 2019 at the Valley of the Temples Memorial Park.
