He is survived by wife, Gwendolyn; sons, Michael M. and Paul M. Nelson; stepson, Scott K. Ellis of San Francisco, CA; brother, Selester Valentine of Baltimore, Maryland. Graveside service 10:00 am, Monday, November 26, 2012 at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery.
