Grace D. Blanton's Obituary
It is with great sadness to share the passing of Grace D. Blanton. Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary is honored to be serving the Blanton family.
On Friday, January 21, 2022, Grace Dian Blanton, loving wife and mother of two children was called home to join the Lord in heaven. Grace was born on September 23, 1959, in California to Pete and Trudy Martinez and joined the family as the middle child with two sisters, Linda Breitengross and Genevieve Kaskabas. Grace met her future husband Donald Ray Blanton in April 1987 and within a few months, both believed God had brought two broken souls together. They were married in 1988 and raised a son and daughter, Elijah Andrew and Charity Gabrielle.
Grace spent her life caring for others including her family, her handicapped mother for 10 years, and a brother-in-law for two years. For the entirety of her life, her love of family trumped her own needs.
Her passions included exploring the outdoors and spending time with those she loved. She could be frequently found hiking, camping, snow skiing, paddle boarding, seashell hunting, motorcycle riding, board gaming, and traveling the world. She was passionate about physical fitness and assisted others as a certified aquatic instructor.
Grace was well known for being kind and for fiercely living out her faith in Christ while taking every opportunity to share the Gospel with others. She was quiet, inquisitive, thoughtful, and joyful. Her family and friends will always remember her radiant smile.
Grace was preceded in death by her mother, Trudy, and her father, Pete. She is survived by her husband, Don, her children, Elijah and Charity, her sisters, Linda and Genevieve, and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. A graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park, Ocean View Terrace, Kaneohe, Hawaii, at 2 o’clock p.m. Those unable to attend in person can virtually attend the service
