In recruit class I had to write several "TO FROMS" cause I kept spelling his last name wrong,,, he was a nice guy, with a great smile and very mellow. I was also friends with his brother Kono....Harold left us way to early...aloha, brother
Harold was my landlord for 2 in a half years at Makaua Village. He taught me a very valuable lesson- live one day at a time because you never know when your time will be up. I run in fear from so many things and I am getting better about facing up to conflict, especially with new landlords. It's very hard handling things on my own and through his prayers with me, I am learning that God always comes through if I just trust and believe. He was so understanding each time I had to be late on my rent, when I lost my job and struggled through so many hard times. He didn't kick me out and provided me with an apartment that was my home of healing and peace after a controlling and negative relationship. I have been through so much in my life and Harold taking a chance on me and letting me live in such a beautiful place was one of the greatest gifts I've ever been blessed with. My time at Makaua and knowing Harold helped me pull myself together and am strengthening my relationship with the Lord. He was not just a landlord, he was a friend and I will never forget everything he did for me. My prayers are with you all.

Leah, we never had the chance to meet but I knew of you through your courtship with Harold. He spoke very fondly of you and I always warned him that with his ways, he would make you fall in love with him and you did! How could you not? When he told me he wasn't sure of how he felt, I told him..You love her! How could you not know that? And he did! I loved him as a very special friend with whom I felt a solid, secure friendship. He was someone I could talk to and trust and I will miss him all the days of my life. They say God takes the good ones way too early and Harold is that proof! A good, good man...taken way too early. God has bigger plans in store for him I'm sure, I only wish we all had a little more time with him here. May you find peace in knowing that he loved you and that he was loved by all who knew him. He will watch over you from above. Watch for his signs...smile with your memories of your time spent together.
