Sending deep condolences to nang helen's loved ones. I first met nang helen during a reading for the ilocano vagina monologues then later on i had the honor of interviewing her as part of my graduate work in o'ahu. Being an immigrant was not easy. I felt welcomed by Helen when I was looking for the common and familiar. I loved that she loved bagoong, art and classical music. We became good friends, she shared many plantation stories and she made me feel special. She gave me an owl figurine when I graduated from UH and stainless salad spoons when I got married. Helen will always have a special place in my heart.

Dear Mr. Miller, I share your loss. I remember Helen playing the piano and accompanying me playing on the violin during our high school days. Helen and my sister Anna were great and lasting friends. Again, I am sorry for your loss.
