CSM (Ret) Henry Pascua Sr.'s Obituary
Henry (Hank) Pascua, Sr., 83, of Waianae, Hawaii, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2017.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary, Kaneohe, Hawaii. Preceding the service will be a family viewing of Hank at 0900, public viewing at 1000, with food and fellowship following the service at 1200, and finally Hank’s burial at 1:00 pm. Dress is Aloha Casual.
Hank was born on August 29, 1934, in Kohala, island of Hawaii and graduated from Lanai High School in 1952. Following high school, Hank joined the U.S. Army, serving in various leadership positions throughout his 28 years and receiving the Legion of Merit for his service. He was a combat veteran in the Korean and Vietnam wars where he earned numerous decorations, to include the Combat Infantryman Badge and Bronze Star Medal with Valor device. He married the former Teresita (Tere) Diego in 1960 while they were both stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Hank was the founding father of the Waianae High School Junior ROTC, an original member of the Waianae Military Community Advisory Council (WMCAC), Commander for the local VFW Post, and Commander of the Combat Infantrymen’s Association. An avid woodworker, Hank also enjoyed the long lasting friendships established with the members of his golf club.
Hank is survived by his brother, Jose (Joe), and sister, Rosalinda (Linda), two daughters, Patricia (Pat) Anglin and Grace LeBlanc, two sons, Henry Jr. and Michael, and his beloved wife Tere; blessed with 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Hank was preceded in death by his brother, Delmacio Jr, and sisters, Josephine (Jay) and Helen.
