Hisao "Hisa" Ibara Ibara's Obituary
Celebrating the Life of Hisao “Hisa” Ibara, born May 8, 1925 in Waimea, Kauai, Hawaii. Where he lived until the 1950’s moved to Oahu. His parents were Kikumatsu and Yoshio Ibara. He was the 8th out of 10 children. He was married to Violet Lau. A retired Painter. Passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2013 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He retired in the 1980’s after serving 30 years; served in the United States Army from 1945-1946 during the WWII war. He attained the rank of PVT and received the following medals WWII Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal, EAME service medal, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal. After retirement he was involved in outdoor activities like fishing, crabbing and yard work. He also enjoyed drinking beer and going to Las Vegas. His most important events were his marriage, birth of son, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and retirement. He was the most humble, kind, loving, cheerful and generous man. Some of Hisao’s favorite hobbies included fishing, crabbing, yard working, fixing things, and just spending time with his family. When asked how he was doing, Grandpa would always say, "Still Kicking." He is survived by son, Clyde N. (Elise) Ibara; granddaughter, Kimberly Ibara; grandson, Branden Ibara; great-grandchildren, Francis and Noel Ibara; sisters, Mitsue Kimura and Yaeko Suehiro; brothers, Katsue, Mutsuo and Akikazu Ibara.
His services will be on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m.; celebration of life service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Committal service 10:00 a.m., Monday October 28, 2013 at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery.
