Isabelo Guray Salvatera's Obituary
Isabelo Guray Salvatera, 95, of Newark, California (formerly of Honolulu, Hawaii) has passed away in Sacramento, California on Tuesday, June 20, 2017. He was born to Esperanza (Guray) and Rafael Salvatera in San Fernando, La Union, Philippines on October 30, 1921.
He retired as an airport maintenance worker and was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Kalihi.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Romelia Gonzales Salvatera. Marrying her on their wedding day was the most important event in his life.
His loved bowling and amongst his favorite songs were, “Sentimental Reasons” and “Mona Lisa.”
Isabelo is survived by his children, Ernesto (Eloisa) Salvatera, Arceli (Jimmy) Naje, Manuel (Elena) Salvatera, Bob (Patricia) Salvatera, David (Melanie) Salvatera, Marilou (Melchor) Castello, Raul Salvatera, Estela (Robert) Guerrero and John Salvatera; 29 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren.
Celebration of life services for Isabelo will be on Monday, July 31, 2017 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church; visitation will be from 5:30 – 9:00 p.m., with wake and family service to begin at 6:30 p.m.
Funeral service will also be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Tuesday, August 1, 2017; visitation from 9:00 – 9:45 a.m., Mass to begin at 10:00 a.m., and burial to follow at 12:00 p.m. at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park.
