In Loving Memory of Ivonelle “Ivy” Afaga Duldulao
November 1, 1970 - November 25, 2025
Ivonelle Afaga Duldulao, lovingly known as Ivy or Manang, was born November 1, 1970, at Kapiolani Hospital in Hawaii. She spent her life on the islands she called home surrounded by family, familiar places , and a community that knew her well.
Ivy was a trained cosmetologist who worked in several salons before building meaningful relationships with clients and coworkers at Fantastic Sams. Doing hair was more than a profession for her, it was one of the ways she connected with people and showed care.
Ivy was the mother of one daughter, Destiny Mabalot. Although their journey together was not simple, Ivy loved her daughter deeply. She often spoke of Destiny, searched for her, and carried the hope that one day they would find their way back to each other. That love never left her.
Ivy lived a complex life, but she was undeniably fierce. She was strong, street smart, protective and loyal. She spoke directly, loved boldly, and had a presence that was felt the moment she entered the room. To many she was the life of the party, to others a quiet protector who would stand by you no matter what.
To her family, Ivy was a Manang in the truest sense. She naturally became a big sister to many, offering guidance, protection, and loyalty to those who needed it. Her friends became her chosen family, and her impact reached far beyond bloodlines.
Ivy’s love was not perfect, but it was real. She taught those closest to her that love can be complicated and still meaningful, messy and still lasting. Her strength, her fire, and her heart lives in her family and every life she touches.
