Jaephill Huh's Obituary
Jaephill Huh, 93, went home to be with the Lord on October 17, 2025, in Aiea, Hawai‘i. Born on July 14, 1932, in South Korea, he lived a long life anchored in faith, perseverance, and deep devotion to his family. His gentle spirit, quiet strength, and steadfast character touched everyone who had the blessing of knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Soo Bun Yi and Kwan Huh, as well as two sisters, Ok Dong Huh, Patti Huh Franks and two brothers.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Jung Mi Huh, and their children: sons Joon Yeung Huh and Joon Hyok Huh, and daughter HaeJung Marr. He was a devoted and loving grandfather to Suk-Joo Huh, Elisabeth Huh, Caroline Huh, Eliot Huh, Jacob Marr, Hannah Marr, and Justin Huh—all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
Jaephill enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially playing golf and reading. Above all, he cherished reading his Bible daily, finding strength, comfort, and guidance in God’s Word. He laughed often and kept a positive outlook on life, sharing his warmth and cheerful spirit with everyone around him. His joyful presence made even ordinary moments memorable.
His life was a testament to resilience, faithfulness, and love. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family and lived the “American dream”—immigrating with very little and becoming a successful businessman, owning multiple boutique stores. He was also generous in supporting church ministries and helping spread the gospel in Hawai‘i and Korea. His legacy lives on through the values he instilled in his children and grandchildren, and through the countless memories he created with those he cherished.
