Detective John Woo, Retired Hpd, 2002
To the family of "Jimmie" Serrao, Field Sergeant, Honolulu Police Department.
I first met Jimmie when I was assigned to the Kaneohe Receiving Desk as a "Desk Sergeant in 1983. He approached me, introduce himself in his friendly smiling manner and said," if there are any questions, asked the other Sergeants First " ! (Leighton, Tom, Charlie, & Robert) then I will give you the "right answer"!
Jimmie was a kind, caring, helpful friend and proud of his family. He had this smile that was infectious to everyone around him. Of course he had his stories (like everyone) which always sounded funny coming from him. He was proud of his son, Michael, who became a Police Officer and who I respected along with his dad!
The last time I met Jimmy was at the windward mall. He had just walked out of the movies that was showing the Fellowship of the Rings or the King one and he told me he had to walk out because of this funny looking creature, (The one that fell into the fire pit with the ring) which he didn't understand! I laughed along with him then we parted, never to meet again.
I will miss Jimmie, his smile, friendship and knowledge. I did however, had the pleasure and honor of working with him!
Aloha Bruddah, rest in peace!
