James "Kimo" Sutton McCandless' Obituary
A Lifetime of Love and Memories- James Sutton McCandless II, 69, of Honolulu, HI passed away this January of 2015. James better known as Kimo, was born June 13, 1945 in Honolulu. His loving parents were Paula McCandless and John McCandless. Kimo was born and raised in Honolulu, HI and then moved to San Carlos, CA where he graduated at Carlmont High School. Kimo then attended San Mateo Junior College for 2 years. His education was put on hold after joining the U.S. Navy where he trained in San Diego. He was then stationed at Mare Island for two years and then the Navy took him to Pearl Harbor for his last two years of service.
Kimo returned to the University of Hawaii at Manoa to complete his education where he received his Bachelors Degree. After several years, he made his career and retired at the Kailua Post Office. Kimo touched many lives with his loving spirit and we are blessed to have had him in our lives.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary on February 18, 2015 starting at 10:00 a.m. for visitation time, with the service starting at 11:00 a.m. The address is 45-425 Kamehameha Highway, Kaneohe, Oahu. Surviving are his loving sisters, Paula Mahoney and Jean Lehua Young, along with 14 nieces and nephews.
