I was deeply saddened to hear of Jim’s passing. My sincerest condolences to Rosemarie and the children.I first met Jim in 1960 shortly after he arrived in Hawaii .We were both newly married and in the midst of starting our families and new careers. We kept in close contact during the 60’s and 70’s but in recent years, as our lives changed, our paths only crossed in chance meetings in Kailua stores.Jim was one of the most unique people that I have ever known. While he lived the usual life of a staid family man he also had a fiercely independent quality---a true example of a “man who marches to his own drummerâ€Â. His leaving a successful career as a stockbroker to start a wallpaper and carpet business with absolutely no experience in the field or his solo travels to Europe are just two examples. However, to me his most endearing quality was his always present dry sense of humor. I will fondly remember him with that sly grin and soft chuckle that usually accompanied one of his remarks.Jim was a good friend who enriched the lives of all those around him. It was a privilege to have known him. He will be missed.##imported-begin##Bill Beaulieu##imported-end##
