James Sakai Taniguchi's Obituary
James Sakai “Tani” Taniguchi
73, of Aiea, passed away on May 5, 2017. He was born on November 3, 1943 to Nancy Chiyeko (Shikiya) and Fred Sakai Taniguchi.
He was a retired Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard Shop 11 Supervisor, Hawaii Air National Guard Master Sergeant, California Glass Glazier Foreman, and Army Veteran. He was also a part time building contractor.
Tani is survived by wife Aloma Taniguchi; eight children, Brian and Mark Izumi, Audrey Hirayama, Corey Taniguchi, Johnell Ladera, Matthew Fermahin, Robyn Duong, & Megan Kanani; siblings, Royse “Butchie” Taniguchi, Carolyn “Naomi” Kalaukoa, & Wayne Taniguchi; 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Tani’s celebration of life services will be held on Monday, May 22, 2017 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary in Kaneohe; visitation from 9:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., with service to begin at 11:00.
