In Loving Memory
Field, Jane Butler age 90 of Oahu, Hawaii passed peacefully at home under the full moon reflecting off the calm bay Tuesday, April 27, 2021.
Known as Nana she was the embodiment of Aloha with a welcome for all to share the beauty of Kahaluu and Kaneohe Bay. She is survived by her husband of 67 years Harry Peyton Field Jr., three daughters and one son, Mary Jane Field Riford (Lloyd Stephen) of Oahu, Sylvia Jean Field James (Frank William) of Oregon, Peter Robert Field (Karen Wiegardt) of Oahu and Linda Elisabeth Field Sisson (Jeffrey Alan) of Arkansas.
Also surviving are eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Grandchildren: Simone Catharine Riford Hanna of Texas and Zz Stephen Riford of Honolulu, Frank William James Jr. of Oregon, Benjamin Butler Field of Oahu, Beau Jeffrey Sisson of Arkansas, Carolyn Rose Sisson Lipps of Alaska, Joel Jeffery Sisson of Arkansas, and Marine Sgt. Jeremiah Jeffrey Sisson. Great-grandchildren: David Jeffrey Lipps, Jeremiah James Lipps, and Thomas Lee Lipps, sons of Carolyn Rose Sisson and Colton James Lipps of Alaska. Olea Laura Field, the daughter of Benjamin Butler Field and Laura Jane Steele Field.
Jane was born in Portland, Oregon. After graduating from Grant High School as Valedictorian in 1948 Jane attended Whitman College class of 1952 where she was awarded Phi Beta Kappa her junior year. She was an active member of Alpha Phi sorority. Jane taught second grade at Punahou Boarding School, was a teacher’s assistant at Kahaluu Elementary School, and had a love of reading and staying active.
The Pu’olu ceremony will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers please make a charitable donation to either the Key Project of Kahaluu, Hawaii or Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum of Ilwaco, Washington.
