I am so sorry to hear of Jane's passing. She was an institution at CP Air that I as a little boy in the 1970's will always remember from my first arrival in Hawaii when I was greeted by this beautiful Hawaiian lady in a moo moo who kissed me and put a lei around my neck after greeting my mum with a big hug. Most of my family were air crew with CP Air out of Vancouver. My father, the late Captain J. K. (Ken) Sorko, my late mum, Edie Sorko, born the same year as Jane, my late sister and stewardess, Janice K. Sorko, and my step-mother and former, purser/head stew, Jane Pedlar, all talked about Jane with such affection and respect. Both my parents knew her well and I know she was always such a welcome sight to the aircrew or our family when we went to Hawaii. I stumbled upon this obit tonight as I am heading to Oahu Thursday and had this inkling to look Jane up. Please accept the condolences from myself and on behalf of Jane and my late family for someone who made such a huge impression on so many people. Jane personified Hawaii and the Hawaiian spirit and was truly CP Air's Hawaiian Ambassador.
Sincerely,
Steve Sorko, North Vancouver, BC
Dear Sam,
My wife, Irene and I were living in Honolulu in the late 80's. We were both with CP Air and have fond memories of Jane and you. We all went to a Luau where you performed.
We are both deeply saddened at her passing and extend our deepest condolences at your loss.
