Jane Hanako Look's Obituary
Jane Hanako Hirota, 85 was born to Frank K. Hirota and Shandra (Medeiros) Hirota in the town of Kawaihau,Kauai. She died peacefully at home in Kailua under Hospice care. She was the youngest of 6 children. She is survived by brother, Paul (Joyce) Hirota.Brother Alex (Olivia) Hirota, and sisters, Lillian (Michael) Iida, Eleanor (John) Stein, and Virginia all preceded her in death. Jane was married to Casey Kwai Cho Look for 54 years before his passing in 2014. She is survived by sons, Aaron “Pono” (Karen) Ouye, Jeffrey “Jeff” (Samantha) Ouye, Kevin (Eren) Look, daughter, Wilma “Kammy” (Paul) Grable, and stepson, Danford Look. She has 4 grandchildren, Cassandra “Cassie” Grable, Dustin “Dusty” (Elyse) Grable, Christian Look, and Kayla Look, and 2 great granddaughters, Paisley Bay and Rhone Grable. Jane worked in the Food Service Industry for Mr. William Mau for over 50 years at the Lau Yee Chai Restaurant, Top of Waikiki and as manager of the Ambassador Coffee Shop at the Ambassador Hotel in Waikiki. She loved what she did until her health declined at 81 and was forced to retire. Jane was a hard worker who had the spirit of Aloha and made lifelong friends of many visitors to Hawaii through the years. We are proud of who she was and feel blessed to be a part of her ohana.
A Memorial Service will be held at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary on Monday, August 20, 2018, Visitation 10:00 a.m.; Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Per her wishes, Jane’s ashes will be scattered in the ocean off of Waikiki Beach where she spent much of her life. A big MAHALO to all her family and friends who brought much joy to her life.
