Janice Mary Elizabeth Uli’i Akana, 77, of Waimea, Hawaii, a retired medical transcriptionist at Straub Clinic & Hospital, died on Dec. 9, 2013. She was born in Honolulu. She is survived by husband Joshua K.; mother Kamila Malterre; daughters Janna (Kimo) Keawe and Jerri (Alex) Dizol; brother, Joseph (Bumps) Malterre; sisters Ritchie (Clifford) Ramseyer, Kamila K. Civetz and Hazel-Lee (Tom) Shaw; and one granddaughter, Tiffany-Michelle Keawe; three grandsons, Isaiah Schubert, Micah Dizol and Noah Dizol. Visitation: 8a.m. Jan. 4 at Wai mea Annunciation Church. Services: 10 a.m.; additional visitation 9:00-10:00a.m., Thursday Jan. 9th, 2014 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary-Kaneohe, Hawaii; with services to begin at 10:00a.m.; inurnment to follow at 1:00p.m. at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery-Kaneohe.
