Although I haven't seen my grandmother Jean for several years,
thanks to my mom Barbara Jean, I too heard of Jean's
fascination with jigsaw puzzles. Over the years, I have gotten
accustomed to my mother's obsession with buying a jigsaw
puzzle as a souvenir for Jean. There was ALWAYS a jigsaw
puzzle box that needed to be packed, shipped or carried on an
airplane. What started off as simple souvenir shopping, has
now turned into fond memories that I will treasure.

Even in sadness, we must feel pride in the legacy left by
someone special. That spirit will continue to shine.

Jean may no longer be with us, but her Japanese legacy lives
on~ in myself and my three children,
Brooke Mieko, Paige Natsuko and Blake Akira.
We will miss her.

It is with much sadness that Mrs. Kosasa sends her sincere sympathy to
the Corcoran family. She remembers Jean as a cheerful, friendly person,
and a wonderful employee. She regrets that she is unable to pay her
respects in person. Her thoughts and prayers and those of the rest of
the Kosasa family are with you at this time.

Jean was fortunate to live with family after giving up her home. She lived with Stacie Corcoran then Ron and Fran until Ron's death in 2010 whereupon she moved to live with James(Butch)and Char and Tayler until her death. Jean was a quiet woman enjoying television, jigsaw puzzles and wordgames. She and her sister Leatrice had traveled the world together - along with a hot pot and many packages of saimin to the amusement of the customs inspectors. Many of the friends she met on these trips continued to keep in touch over the years. She retired from ABC Drugs many years ago. She loved crafts and was generally working on something for the Parker United Methodist Church Christmas Craft Fair. Her later life was quiet. She was a member of Kahuku United Methodist Church for 8 years, enjoying worship with the children and the music they shared. We will miss her.
