Joan Helen Gonzalez's Obituary
Joan Helen Gonzalez, age 84, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2026, in Kapolei, Hawaii. She was born on November 27, 1941, in the Bronx, New York, to her loving parents, Thomas and Elizabeth Hickman.
Joan was a devoted mother, a hard-working professional, and a woman whose quiet strength touched everyone who knew her. She later made Hawaii her home, where she built a meaningful life after dedicating many years to her career in North Carolina. As well, her life in West Virginia always remained near and dear to her heart. Known for her diligence, integrity, and attention to detail, Joan earned the respect of colleagues and friends alike.
Above all else, Joan cherished her family. She is lovingly remembered and survived by her children: Anita Gonzalez, Christine Gonzalez, Ronald Gonzalez Jr., Anthony Gonzalez, and Linda DiGiovanni. Her legacy lives on through them and the many lives she influenced with her kindness and unwavering support.
Joan will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her love, resilience, and enduring spirit.
