My condolences to His brothers, sister, and Merlyn. What a fun guy, John. To his ATO fraternity brothers he was know as " froggy", years before his scuba diving navy career. To us the last 40 years, he was "Frogman". Those of us able to travel to the islands loved to visit and enjoy recreation with John. A great host, willing always to share a spare room for as many nights as he could keep us. My mother and my young teen children, enjoyed his personal guided tours of navy marine mammal research and training facilities. One trip out, he took me lobster hunting off Kaneohe. My scuba regulator failed below 100 feet, and John saved my skin, as we buddy breathed the slow ascent. Then he had to swim 1/4 mile in rough seas to catch up to our boat which was dragging anchor. Him dying before I made another trip, feels like having not finished reading a very interesting book.
We all will miss our happy remembrances and times together playing golf, tailgating, going to football games, partying, etc. Our prayers are with Merlyn, your sisters, and everyone else that deeply cared about you.
