Blayton Miguel
B.J… He showed me what hard work and dedication truly look like, a lesson that’s stuck with me to this day. He taught me the value of working together toward a common goal and showed, firsthand, what a real win-win situation looks like. He proved that kindness can accomplish more than a blunt, direct approach when dealing with others.
I wish I could have had the chance to speak with him more, to ask him about leadership, and mentorship. Would have loved to emulate that, traits and skills that seem to be lacking in this day and age. One thing I’ll never forget: no matter how busy he was, even if you were a lowly AB, if you had an issue, he would stop what he was doing and make time for you right then and there. You would never hear a response such as “can you come back in 5 min”, Everyone mattered. To this day, I’ve never met anyone else like him.
My one regret is not telling him, Thank you for everything. So much of what I have in my life now wouldn’t be possible without him. If I had to pick one word that best represents BJ it would be Aloha. His kindness, love for people, patience, and the time he invested in others made all the difference. He had a way of ensuring others succeeded. His understanding, his leadership and mentorship, and the way he carried himself.
He made such a difference and touched so many lives. If we all became just a little more like him, imagine how much better off the world would be.
Thank you B.J
