Josefina Cababa Ramirez's Obituary
Josefina C. Ramirez passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on August 31, 2022 while surrounded by family.
Josefina was born to the late Maximo and Bonifacia Cababa on March 19, 1929 in Toran, Aparri Philippines.
She relocated from the Philippines to Honolulu, Hawaii in September 1967. She began her stellar working career at the Beachcomber Hotel and served in hospitality from December 1971 to December 1991. She earned numerous accolades and rewards during her tenure and was an active member of the Narvacan Filipino Club and more importantly, she became a United States Citizen.
Josefina's hobbies were sewing, cooking and baking Filipino desserts. She also enjoyed playing bingo and going to Las Vegas staying in her favorite hotel, The CAL. After retirement, she immediately accepted the responsibility of caring for her grandchildren while her children worked. She would walk them to and from school, while summer breaks included going holoholo
around the island and eating homemade ice cream sandwiches. She took the time to help her grandchildren memorize their multiplication tables and division problems. The love for her family was never ending, it made her thrive even more to be the best wife, mother, mama, sister and auntie the family would ever have.
She married the late Doroteo Ramos Ramirez on June 19, 1949 and were together for 59 years. Josefina is survived by her son, Leo (Liz), daughter, Myrna (David). 9 Grandchildren: Justin (Leilani), Jenna (Pat), Jessica (Joe), Meaghan (Melvin), and Kaitlynn. 4 Great Grandchildren: Tayton, Journey, Mahealani and Justice. Brothers: Arturo (Suzette) and German (Susan).
A service for Josefina will be held on Friday, October 7, 2022 at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park at 09:30 am with graveside committal at 12:00pm.
