Though we lived miles apart, Uncle was a constant presence in our lives—a quiet but unwavering source of strength, generosity, and love. From Hawaii, his support was with a deep sense of care and commitment that never faded.
Personally, I owe much of my academic journey to him and the Gallego family. From high school to college, they believed in my potential and invested in my dreams. This support carried me through the hardest days, and the kindness lit the way forward.
I rarely met him in person, but his impact has been lifelong. At my graduation, I will carry his memory with me. The sunflowers that bloom that day will not bloom for me alone—but for him, grandma, and everyone who's been with me through it all. A tribute to a man whose love for his wife, children, and family reached across oceans and lifted us all.
From our family, rest in peace, Uncle. You will always be with us.
To Auntie Mona, Toby, Ate Isa, and the rest of the family, may our love and support reach you during these times. We hope to see you all again soon and offer you the warmest of hugs.
