Juanita Vea Campollo's Obituary
Juanita Aning Vea Campollo, 80, of Honolulu, passed away in Honolulu, Hawaii on Monday, October 9, 2023. She was born in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. Her mother, Dora, was a midwife and gave birth to Aning, twin sister Ansing, brothers Pedro, Domingo, Romulo, David and Eddie all by herself without any assistance from anyone.
Aning married Buenaventura Turang Campollo and moved to Hawaii in 1966. They have 3 children together - Lorena, Johnny and Junior. She petitioned for her mother followed by Domingo, Romulo, David, Eddie and adopted her brother Pedro’s daughters, Rufina and Evelyn. Through the years they have helped countless friends and families in the Philippines. For many, they were the bridge to the United States with hopes of a brighter future.
Aning retired in 2005 after 35 years of service at the Royal Hawaiian and Sheraton Waikiki.
