Judithann Marie Sabate's Obituary
Born to Helen and James Mahaffey – when she was born, her father was on duty in Europe in the Air Force, serving his country during WWII. As an Air Force brat, she attended schools at the various bases her dad was assigned to. Her mother started a music school, and was teaching accordion. Judith and her brothers began lessons, and although being far from an accomplished accordion virtuoso, she did read musical notes.
In the summer of 1960, the family was restationed at Hickam Air Force Base in Honolulu, Hawaii. Judith attended Radford High School her junior and senior years.
She acquired a part-time job, and met her love of life, Michael. After her graduation, she married. 1963, she became mom to Michele. 1964 she became mom to Tony, who went to heaven in 1969. 1970, she became Mom to Gui. They lived in Honolulu for 12 years of marriage.
1974 the family moved to the mainland.
Judith started working for a childrens’ clothing store, and later for an office supply. It did not take long for the kids to start getting involved with sports and they all enjoyed watching softball, little league, and soccer. While in SoCal, they lived in a very nice part called Palos Verdes. This was on the peninsula, south of Los Angeles. They were able to live very comfortable. 1984, Judith and Michael moved to Northern California, and she started working for Hallmark Stores.
1988, she became a grandmother to Nicholas, 1990 a grandmother to Anthony, 1991 Frank, 2001 Maxwell, and 2010 a grandmother to her beautiful Sophia Marie.
Judith’s heart and soul were her children and grandchildren. Judith was a wonderful Mother and great support for her family. She gave 100% to support her family.
Graveside services over ashes will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 24, 2016, at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park.
