Julia "Bay" Magaleon's Obituary
Julia "Bay" Magaleon, age 80, beloved mother, grandmother and sister, passed away December 16, 2017 in Kaneohe where she resided for 45 years. Born in Lihue, Kauai, on February 7, 1937, Julia was the tenth of eleven children born to Mariano Magaleon and Iluminada Aquino Magaleon. She was a graduate of Kaimuki High School, and after graduation began a career as a driver for Pacific Laundry and Spuds Laundry delivering uniforms to the military soldiers, worked in sales and delivery for an automobile parts and service company and retired from JAWS. Julia was very active as coach of the women's softball team called "The Jokers". She is predeceased by her parents, Mariano and Iluminada; brothers, Marcellino, Guillermo, Jerry, Joe, Ben and Frankie Magaleon; sisters, Faye Carter, Mary Gaspang and Bella Miguel; fur babies, Pierre, Freeway, Snow and Lil' Guys.
She is survived by daughter, Kathrine "Candy" "Kat" Chung; son-in-law, Alvin "AC" Chung, Jr.; sister, Margarita "Maggie" Cassidy; grandsons, Isaiah and Elijah Carbonell and Codie Garcia; 5 grand-fur babies, Ese, Mija, Short Stack, Bruno and Maximus.
Funeral services for Julia will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018, at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary. Visitation will be from 5:30 - 9:00 p.m. Service will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Graveside service and burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery. Flowers are welcome. Casual attire is suggested.
