Darlene and I met working at Oly. I was the new kid and she knew the ropes. Of all things, we found commonality over a German xacto knife and Hawaii. Years later, this woman and her radio contest speed dialing just a memory, I get a call out of the blue. Now recast as Kalina, she's calling from Hawaii still looking for those Uber knives. I still have a handle.
Got no more blades.

Deeply sorry to hear about Darlene's passing, she will be deeply missed by many. Darlene never forgot a birthday or holiday; one of the most selfless people I knew. My Mom will forever miss her dear friend. Praying for peace for all of you.

Dear Gary,
I will miss Kalina, my "cat advisor" and fellow cat lover. She saved Fluffy from needing a trip to the vet many times. I will miss her forwarded humorous e-mails, especially "Caturday", and photos of her furry family - Miki and Maka. I've watched Maka through the years get plump and fat as he was nurtured under Kalina's care from eating rats to specially purchased cat food. The neighborhood was safe with Maka's rat catching skills. It was always fun to see his latest "present" at the doorway. Kalina was a proud "mother".
