Kathleen A. Martin's Obituary
Kathleen "Kathy" A. Martin, 70, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away October 4, 2018. The 2nd of 5 children, Kathy was born in Honolulu on August 17, 1948 to parents Roy Araujo and Loyola McCoy Araujo, Kathy was loving and dedicated homemaker. She attended Lanikai Elementary, Kailua Intermediate and graduated from Kailua High School, then continued her education and received her Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate.
On December 17, 1966, she married the love of her life, Alan R. Martin, and they celebrated 51 years of life together. Kathy was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Kaneohe where she regularly attended services. She enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Aiea Bowling League from 1970-1980. Friends Diane, Charlene and Jan, along with her sisters Adele, Lisa and Tracy were great influences in her life. Kathy considered her greatest achievements as being a faithful, dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother, and can best be described as kind-hearted, loyal, loving and sincere. Favorite activities include shopping, lunch outings with family and friends and serving in church. She enjoyed listening to The Big Bopper, doing the Twist and the Mashed Potato!
She is survived by husband, Alan R. Martin; son, Alan Timothy Martin; daughters, Laurie Martin and Kerry (Daniel) Cruz; grandchildren, Colby Martin, Lola Martin and Enzo Martin; sisters, Adele (David) Chabriel, Lisa (Charles) White and Tracy Araujo.
Services for Kathy will be held on Monday, November 19, 2018, at St. Ann Catholic Church (46-129 Haiku Road, Kaneohe, HI 96744). Visitation will be from 9:00-9:30 a.m.; Eulogy will be given at 9:30 a.m. and Mass will be celebrated at 9:45 a.m. Burial will follow at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery at 11:00 a.m.
