Kealaonapualani C. Aoki's Obituary
Kealaonapualani “Tita” Christen Aoki gained her heavenly wings on April 30, 2024 at the age of 43. She was born on December 18, 1980 in Honolulu and was raised and lived in beautiful Kalihi Valley. At birth, Keala was diagnosed with a genetic disorder which made her our special miracle baby. Her parents devoted their lives to her care and well-being throughout her life. Also sharing in her care and upbringing were her Great Grandmother, Puna Ching of Kalihi, Kupuna and Tutu Papa Aoki of Pauoa, and Grandma and Grandpa Cummings of Waimanalo. Keala was also loved and doated on by many aunties, uncles and cousins.
She received her education through the Hawaii public school system and earned a Certificate of Completion from Farrington High School in 2001. Shortly after, Keala enrolled in Lanakila Pacific’s Teaching and Learning Centers program where she received life skills training to gain independence and an improved quality of life. She was well-liked among her peers and staff for her pleasant, caring and bubbly personality.
Life was very predictable for Keala. You could find her enjoying quality time with her family and on Sundays worshiping in church at the Gospel of Salvation. These were the most important things in her life. She was amazing and wonderful ~ a sweet, kind and caring soul with a big heart full of love! She will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. We miss and love you, Tita Keala! You will remain in our hearts forever!
Keala is survived by her parents Arthur and Gail Aoki; brother, Kaulana (Hinano); sister, Lahela Ola (Kenese); nephews, Ka’ena Aoki, Kekaulele Aoki, Kinohi Ola; niece, Kahiau Joy Aoki; and a large extended family including aunties, uncles, cousins, and more.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Valley of the Temples on Tuesday, June 11, 9:30 a.m. visitation, 10:30 a.m. service, and burial at 1:00 p.m.
