Learning is fun! He was my fifth grade teacher at PC Highlands Elementary.
I was in Mr. Young’s 5th grade class at Pearl City Highlands Elementary. He was a dedicated teacher who made learning fun. He was always smiling and joking around. I remember how he made fun out of our misspelling of hambuger!
He would let us stay after school and there was a bunch of us who wouldn’t want to go home.
I am a teacher too and carrying on his light that he passed on to me. We were blessed to have him in our lives!
Kel had a very generous and open spirit. He always made us comfortable and welcome in his world. I thoroughly enjoyed our time together running miles through Honolulu to prepare for the marathon. It was fun to hear stories about his childhood as we ran. He had a great smile! My condolences to Betsy.
