Kendall Tin Yong Tom, Sr., 74, a retired Stevedore with McCabe, Hamilton & Renny Co., Ltd, passed away in Kaneohe, Hawaii. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. He is survived by his, wife, Mabel E. Tom; sons, Harold (Marymarie) Tom, Adam Tom and Kendall "Bully" Tom, Jr.; daughters, Maria Elena Tom (George Sheridan III), Angeline Tom (Garey Pineda), Roxanne Tom-Detol (Philip Detol, Jr.) and Marlene Tom (Hi'ilei Aiu); hanai sons, Deldon Staggs and Duane Staggs; brother, Kenneth Tom; sisters, Sheila "Nani" Staggs and Louise "Ulu" Tom; hanai brother, Derek "Keala" Montervon; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces, and extended family members.
Visitation for his wake service will be held 5:30-6:30 p.m., Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary; prayer service to begin at 6:30 p.m. Additional visitation to be held the next day, Friday, May 16, 2014 10:30-11:15 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Kailua with Mass to begin at 11:30 a.m. and burial to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery.
